How can I test if my points scheme works correctly?
Before fully launching your loyalty programme, it’s important to test that your points scheme applies correctly to transactions. This ensures your customers earn points as intended.
1. Verify scheme setup
From the Merchant dashboard, navigate to the settings menu then Points scheme. This section will display your points scheme policies. Verify the points scheme is properly configured by checking the earning rules, eligible SKUs, exclusions, and redemption policies.
2. Test the SKUs in a transaction
Add products eligible for points to the basket during the transaction. Process the sale as usual, ensuring that:
- The points awarded correspond to the scheme’s earning rules
- Excluded SKUs do not earn points
- Limits and caps are respected
3. Review points awarded
After the sale, check the customer’s points balance or transaction details to verify correct points were added.
4. Adjust if necessary
If the points are not awarded as expected:
- Review and update the scheme’s settings
- Save changes and repeat the test
