How can I test if my coupon rules are working correctly?
Before activating a promotion, it’s good practice to test your coupon rules created in the Merchant dashboard in Wollette POS to ensure the discount applies as expected and meets all conditions.
1. Create the Coupon rule in Settings
First, ensure the coupon has been created in the Coupon rules and includes all required details such as:
- Coupon name
- Discount type and value
- Start and end dates
- Applicable SKUs
- Any terms and conditions.
2. Test in the point of sale
Log on to a terminal in the point of sale and start a new order. Add the products which are eligible for the coupon’s conditions to the basket.
4. Apply the Coupon code
Add the coupon code at checkout. Wollette POS will automatically apply the discount if all conditions are met.
5. Check the discount
Verify the discount is:
- Applied to the correct products
- Showing the correct amount or percentage
- Respecting any limits (e.g. one-time use, exclusions, date range).
6. Make adjustments if needed
If the coupon doesn’t apply as expected:
- Review the rule setup in the Coupon rules menu
- Double-check date ranges, eligible items, and usage limits and edit as necessary
- Edit and re-save the rule, then re-test.
