Getting user credentials to use card services

Give a member of your team the SoftPay credentials they need to take card payments.

Before you start: Card services must be enabled. The person must already exist in your dashboard as a merchant administrator, branch administrator or branch sales clerk. You'll also need access to the mobile number and email address on the card services account, because that's where their credentials are sent.

Where to find it: Sidebar → Card services → Users (use See all to open the full list)

The Users table shows Name, Email and Phone for everyone who has SoftPay credentials. Before you add anyone it reads "No added user".

Adding, resetting and removing all happen the moment you click — there's no confirmation step, so be sure before you choose an action.

Adding a user

Steps

  1. Open Users and click Add user.
  2. In the Add user dialog, open Add user (placeholder "Select a user") and pick the person. Each name is shown with their role — Merchant Administrator, Branch Administrator or Branch Sales Clerk.
  3. Click Add, or Cancel to close.

People who already have credentials aren't listed. If nobody is left, the dialog reads "Every user already has SoftPay credentials."

What happens next

"User added successfully" appears and the dialog changes to User credentials — "User credentials were added successfully." It shows:

  • Username — their SoftPay username.
  • Password — usually shown as "Sent via SMS" rather than on screen.

Underneath: "The password has been sent via SMS to the recipient phone number from a Danish (+45) number. SoftPay username has also been sent by email to the recipient email. Please ensure that you store the password and the email securely for future reference."

Expect a text from a +45 number. Click Close when you're done — the password isn't shown again, and the only way to get a new one is a reset.

Resetting a password

Steps

  1. Open Users and click the actions menu at the end of the person's row.
  2. Choose Reset password.

What happens next

Password reset opens — "The password was reset successfully." — with the same Username and Password fields and the same note about the Danish number. The new password is texted; the old one stops working immediately.

Click Close when you've finished.

Removing a user

Steps

  1. Open Users and click the actions menu at the end of the person's row.
  2. Choose Remove user.

What happens next

"User removed successfully" appears and they're taken off the table straight away. Their SoftPay credentials stop working, but their Wollette dashboard account is untouched — removing them here doesn't remove them from your team. You can add them again later, which issues a fresh username and password.
