Terminal options

A session refers to the active period where transactions, cash tracking, and other sales activities are recorded. Depending on your situation, you can choose to continue, start, or cancel a session.

Once you log into the POS, you will see the terminals available to you. Once you click on a terminal you will be prompted to log in using your username and password. Then different terminal options may appear depending on if you were previously logged in or not. Here’s what each option means:

1. Start a new session

Choose “Start New Session” if no active session is currently running or if the previous session has been closed.

  • A fresh session begins where you can begin transactions.

2. Continue a session

"Continue a session" appears if you were previously logged in and did not exit your session.

  • You’ll re-enter the active session.
  • Ideal for resuming after a break or switching users without closing the session.

3. Terminate

Once you have completed a session, be sure to terminate it to close the session. You can do this on the top of the screen for tablet or bottom of the screen for mobile and click exit.

The terminate option will also appear if you did not previously exit a session where you can do so at this stage.

Tips

  • Only one active session is allowed per terminal at a time.
  • Sessions help track transactions and sales, so it’s important to start and close them accurately.
  • Some features such as sales reporting or end-of-day summaries depend on proper session management.
